Toronto Wedding Limo Tips
Wedding day transportation is easy to overlook until the last few weeks, and by then the best vehicles are often booked. These tips will help you plan limousines and guest transportation for a wedding in Toronto or the GTA, from your first quote to the getaway car.
1. Start With Your Timeline
Write down every move on the day: getting ready, the ceremony, photos, the reception and the end of the night. Note who travels at each step, such as the bride and bridesmaids, the groom and groomsmen, parents and guests. This tells you how many vehicles you need, for how long, and where each pick-up is.
2. Match Vehicles to Each Group
- The couple: a Rolls-Royce Phantom or classic stretch limo for the arrival and getaway.
- The wedding party (8 to 14): a stretch limo or an SUV limo such as the Lincoln Navigator.
- Larger parties (18 to 20): a Hummer limo.
- Guests: a limo bus or 50 passenger party bus as a shuttle between the ceremony, hotel and reception.
3. Book Early
Saturdays from May to October are the busiest days of the year for limousines. Start asking for quotes as soon as your venues are confirmed; 3 to 6 months ahead is sensible for peak dates. Most companies, including ours, ask for a deposit to hold your vehicles; ours is 15%.
4. Understand Minimums and Timing
Wedding bookings in peak season usually carry a 3 to 5 hour minimum. Build in buffer time for photos, traffic and the unexpected; it is far less stressful to have a car waiting than to be rushed between locations.
5. Check the Company, Not Just the Price
- Read recent reviews and look for comments about punctuality and chauffeurs.
- Look at real photos of the actual vehicles, not stock images.
- Confirm that vehicles are licensed and insured and chauffeurs are professional.
- Get the quote in writing, including hours, stops and deposit terms.
6. Share the Details in Writing
A week before the wedding, send your final schedule with addresses, contact names and phone numbers for each pick-up. Ask the company to confirm the chauffeur’s arrival times and keep one person, often the planner or best man, as the day-of contact.
7. Think About the End of the Night
Many couples forget the ride home. A getaway car or a late shuttle for guests helps everyone leave safely, especially when the reception is outside the city.
8. Plan Around the Weather and Photos
Outdoor photo locations such as parks, waterfronts and historic buildings are popular in Toronto, but they add travel time. Ask your photographer how long each location takes and share the list with your limo company. If rain is possible, plan an indoor backup nearby so the schedule still works.
9. Don’t Forget Out-of-Town Guests
If guests are staying at a hotel, a shuttle between the hotel, ceremony and reception means nobody has to drive or find parking, and everyone arrives on time. A 26–28 passenger limo bus or a larger party bus can make several trips through the day.
